Job summary

Friendship Village Tempe seeks an experienced HVAC Technician to keep our community comfortable and safe. You will service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, refrigeration, air handlers, and commercial equipment, read blueprints, and keep logs.

Pay ranges from $27.95 to $30.75 per hour (DOE); schedule is 7:00am–3:30pm Tuesday through Saturday. Overtime, weekends, and on-call pager work may be required to support plant operations and resident comfort.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of HVAC/maintenance experience.
• HVAC Certification preferred.
• EPA Certification strongly preferred; if none, must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, refrigeration, air handlers, and commercial equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and general building repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliances
• Read blueprints and schematics to diagnose issues and complete quality repairs
• Maintain equipment logs, reports, and maintenance records
• Work with residents, staff, and vendors to deliver outstanding customer service
• Help support plant operations and emergency systems while keeping safety a top priority
• Occasionally carrying the maintenance on-call pager may be required. Possibility of working weekends, holidays, overtime and or any shift as dictated by department workload.

What You Bring:

• Minimum 3 years of HVAC/maintenance experience. (Current enrollment in an accredited vocational trade school for maintenance of commercial kitchen/laundry facilities and or chillers may substitute for one year of experience)
• HVAC Certification preferred.
• EPA Certification strongly preferred. If no EPA certification employee must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Valid Driver's License required.
