Job summary

City of Sacramento is seeking an experienced HVAC Systems Mechanic to maintain and repair commercial HVAC systems across city facilities. You will review work orders, coordinate with site managers and supervisors, and support on assignments with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate holds EPA Universal Certification, can read blueprints, work with Direct Digital Controls, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure indoor air quality and system efficiency.

Qualifications

• EPA Universal Certification required for appointment.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical diagrams.
• Experience with Direct Digital Controls and building automation systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and refrigeration systems.
• Willing to be on-call, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, repair, overhaul and develop preventative maintenance programs for HVAC systems.
• Install, calibrate and maintain building automation controls and field devices.
• Monitor and report major system problems to supervisor or lead person.
• Maintain computerized records for work orders and time sheets.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure indoor air quality and system efficiency.
