Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) seeks an experienced HVAC Superintendent to lead field operations for commercial HVAC construction projects in the Charleston, South Carolina area. The role focuses on hands‑on leadership, safety, quality, and timely delivery from startup through closeout.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years supervising HVAC construction, strong field coordination skills, the ability to read drawings, and a track record of safe, productive sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years supervising commercial HVAC construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and equipment installation.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specs, and construction documents.
• Solid scheduling, manpower planning, and field coordination skills.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred; valid driver's license and ability to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day field operations for commercial HVAC construction projects.
• Lead and coordinate foremen, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, equipment, and materials.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, sequencing, and manpower plans.
• Monitor field productivity and ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
• Coordinate HVAC work with Project Managers, GCs, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Participate in project meetings with clients, general contractors, engineers, and project partners.
