Job summary

Mechanical One, LLC is seeking an HVAC Start-Up Technician to perform initial operation and testing of newly installed HVAC systems. You will oversee start-up procedures, balance airflow and refrigerant, and calibrate controls.

You will train occupants and coordinate with installation teams while upholding safety and codes. Ideal candidates bring 1 year of residential HVAC installer experience, a valid license, and the ability to lift heavy equipment while reading blueprints and troubleshooting

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of HVAC residential installer experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean MVR.
• Ability to operate power tools for HVAC jobs.
• Ability to pass drug screen and background check.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform climbing, standing, kneeling.
• Willingness to wear PPE per regulations.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and codes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-start-up inspections of HVAC systems to ensure proper installation.
• Initiate and monitor start-up procedures for HVAC equipment.
• Perform system balancing, including airflow and refrigerant charge adjustments.
• Test and calibrate controls and thermostats.
• Identify and troubleshoot any operational issues.
• Perform leak detection and repair as needed.
• Document system performance and any required adjustments.
• Provide training to building occupants on HVAC system operation.
• Coordinate with installation teams and building owners.
• Adhere to safety regulations and building codes.
