Job summary

Lovejoy Mechanical Contractors is seeking a Sr. Commercial HVAC Service Technician to service the Houston area. The role requires 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience and performance of service and repair on light commercial equipment up to 25 tons. Must have EPA certification, state registration, and a clean driving record.

The position is full-time, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm with on-call nights, overtime, and potential travel as needed. Company offers benefits and a vehicle with gas card.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC experience.
• Experience diagnosing and servicing split systems and package units preferred.
• EPA certification and state registration required.
• Driver's license in good standing and clean driving record.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair of light commercial HVAC equipment up to 25 tons.

• Coordinate with service manager and customers for timely resolutions.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and maintain safety standards.

Job Title: Sr. Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Job Type: Full-Time (7:00 am – 4:00 pm, with flexibility to work nights as needed and rotating on call schedule)

Salary: DOE, position reports to the Service Manager

Lovejoy Mechanical Contractors is located in Houston and has been in business since 1979. We specialize in HVAC service, maintenance, installations, and indoor air quality control. We have seen rapid growth and are currently hiring an experienced Sr. Commercial HVAC Technician to service the Houston area with a minimum of 5 years commercial experience. We are looking for technicians who can assist/handle service and repair of light commercial equipment up to 25-tons.

Ideal Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 5-Years Commercial Experience
• Preferred experience diagnosing and servicing split systems and package units
• Preferred experience in refrigeration, electric motors, heating units, hermetic compressors, light commercial furnaces, boilers, burners intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, low-temperature application, and controls knowledge.
• Preferred experience troubleshooting controls and building automation. Working knowledge of electric controls, VVT, DDC, and programmable thermostat controls of HVAC equipment.
• Preferred experience dispatching and/or scheduling technicians.
• Good Communication Skills
• Must be organized, punctual and dependable
• Self motivated and ability to work alone with little supervision
• Technical knowledge of equipment and ability to diagnose & troubleshoot systems
• Technical knowledge for start-up and installation of HVAC equipment up to 25-tons
• Have a clean, neat and professional appearance; pride of workmanship in their work
• Flexible and willing to work overtime and occasional out of town work
• Must have DRIVER'S LICENSE IN GOOD STANDING AND GOOD DRIVING RECORD
• Must PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK
• Must be State Registered & EPA certified
• Must have own hand tools, drills, gauges, and some specialized equipment.

Schedule

• Day shift: 7AM-4PM or 8AM-5PM; Monday to Friday
• On call 2 weekends per month
• Overtime
• Evening & Weekends as needed
• Out of town service as needed
