Job summary

B&I Contractors, Inc. in Florida is seeking a Sheet Metal Journeyman to install HVAC duct systems and related sheet metal components. You will work safely, follow design specifications, and mentor trainees or apprentices on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of HVAC sheetmetal duct experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of duct systems and applicable codes.
• Proficient in trade mathematics (offsets, etc.).
• Proficient in the safe and proper use of hand and power tools.
• Commitment to job-site safety and company policies.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• OSHA 10 certification.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and work instructions to complete installations.
• Install HVAC equipment, ductwork, and assemblies.
• Fabrication, layout, installation, repair, or maintenance of duct systems.
• Collaborate with general contractors and other trades.
• Ensure work meets codes, standards, and procedures.
• Provide training and guidance to trainees or apprentices.
• Maintain organized, safe, and serviceable work areas.
