Job summary

Lex Air Conditioning and Heating in Plano, TX is seeking a Light Commercial HVAC Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems. You will work on RTUs, package units, chillers, and boilers, with emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

The role requires 3–5+ years of experience, EPA 608 certification, and the ability to read schematics. A valid driver’s license is required; company truck provided with service calls.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of light commercial HVAC experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with RTUs, package units, and commercial refrigeration.
• EPA Section 608 Certification required (Universal).
• TDLR (Preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain light commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, packaged units, chillers and boilers.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on commercial equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues.
• Conduct diagnostics, leak detection, recovery, and refrigerant charging per EPA rules.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams; interpret technical manuals.
• Maintain service records and complete work orders.
• Communicate system conditions and recommended repairs to customers.
• Follow safety procedures, codes, and company policies.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Light Commercial HVAC Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic abilities, experience working on a variety of commercial equipment, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain light commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on commercial equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues.
• Perform diagnostics, leak detection, recovery, and charging in accordance with EPA regulations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding system conditions and recommended repairs.
• Follow all safety procedures, local codes, and company policies.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles.

Work Environment

Works in field environments across residential job sites, climbing ladders and navigating uneven surfaces. Regularly works in confined spaces and moves materials up to 50 pounds. Operates hand and power tools and vehicles. Must be able to see, hear, and exchange accurate information with customers and team members. Regular exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and dust. Pay Range: $100,000 USD - $150,000 USD
