Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
• Minimum 2–5 years HVAC service experience (commercial or residential).
• EPA Section 608 certification required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting, time management, and communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces or elevated areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, service calls, and emergency repairs on HVAC systems.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in AC units, compressors, and related equipment.
• Install, inspect, and test new HVAC systems and components.
• Recharge refrigerants and check for leaks per EPA regulations.
• Calibrate thermostats, replace filters, belts, and other parts as needed.
• Document all service activities using work orders.
• Communicate with customers about work performed and maintenance options.
• Follow safety procedures and keep a clean work environment.
• Stay current on HVAC industry practices, tools, and technology.
• Assist training apprentices or junior technicians as assigned.
