Job summary

Bob Jenson Air Conditioning, Heating & Plumbing – San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, service, and repair residential and commercial systems throughout San Diego County. You will travel to customer locations to perform routine maintenance, resolve issues, and advise clients on best solutions while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of residential HVAC service experience.
• EPA Certification(s) required.
• Service experience is required; installation-only experience is not the target for this role.
• Completion of HVAC vocational training or an apprenticeship preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues with heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, warranty work, and end-of-life repairs.
• Identify customer needs and clearly explain system issues, repair options, and recommendations.
• Travel to customer locations and represent Bob Jenson professionally on every call.
• Maintain accurate service documentation using an app-based field service system.
• Participate in ongoing technical training to stay current on equipment, technology, and best practices.
• Ensure all work complies with company safety standards and applicable codes.
• Support the team in achieving service, productivity, and customer satisfaction goals.
• Work independently while also collaborating with the broader service team.

About the Role

Bob Jenson Air Conditioning, Heating & Plumbing is a locally owned San Diego company that has proudly served the community for more than 45 years. We are looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, service, and repair heating and air conditioning systems for residential and commercial customers throughout San Diego County.

This role is ideal for a career-minded technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, clear communication, and delivering an excellent customer experience. You will travel to customer locations to perform routine maintenance, diagnose system issues, complete repairs, and help customers make informed decisions about their comfort systems.

Compensation

• $30–$35 per hour

• Commission opportunities

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.

• Strong understanding of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems.

• Working knowledge of boiler systems.

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

• Ability to work in confined spaces.

• Ability to work after hours, weekends, and holidays with short notice when needed.

• ServiceTitan experience is preferred but not required.

• Experience using an app-based field service or dispatching system is a plus.
