Job summary

Johnson Controls Inc is seeking HVAC Apprentices to join our team onsite in Irving, TX. You will train on HVAC equipment, participate in the Service Technical Academy, and learn to troubleshoot both technical issues and customer needs while working with JCI and the Union.

Qualifications

• Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in HVAC.
• Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems and facilities management.
• Effective interpersonal and professional communication.
• Self-starter capable of working independently.
• This position requires a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
• Participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy that will build skill sets to provide continued opportunities for recognition, monetary rewards and advancement.
• Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues as well as customer needs.
• You will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed.
• You will meet attendance requirements for required Union training for first year.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
