Job summary

MIH Systems Group seeks a motivated HVAC Service Technician - Apprentice to join the MIH team. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems in residential and/or commercial settings under supervision.

The candidate will complete HVAC school or an apprenticeship, demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, and work in diverse environments. A valid driver’s license and willingness to learn on the job are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an HVAC technical school or apprenticeship program.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in the HVAC trade.
• Ability to work in various environments (heat, cold, confined spaces, ladders, rooftops).
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Basic hand tools preferred; willingness to acquire additional tools over time.
• Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems.
• Learn to diagnose basic mechanical and electrical issues under supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as filter changes, cleaning components, and checking system performance.
• Safely handle tools, equipment, and materials according to company and OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and job reports.
• Communicate professionally with customers and team members.
• Load/unload materials and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Participate in training programs, certification courses, and on-the-job learning.
• Follow company policies, safety standards, and job schedules.
