Job summary

AK Heating & Cooling is hiring a full-time HVAC Service Technician to diagnose and repair residential and light-commercial heating and cooling systems across Trumbull, Mahoning, Portage, Ashtabula, and Columbiana counties. You'll run your own truck, talk straight with homeowners and property managers, and have a stocked shop with a dispatcher who backs you up.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HVAC service experience at residential or commercial scale.
• EPA 608 certification is required; universal preferred.
• Professional, customer-facing communication with homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and mini-splits.
• Perform precision tune-ups and document findings in a written report.
• Quote repairs and present options with up-front pricing.
• Handle EPA-certified refrigerant recovery and charging.
• Keep your truck stocked, clean, and inventory-accurate.
• Participate in rotating 24/7 emergency on-call schedule.

Requirements

• 2+ years of residential or commercial HVAC service experience
• EPA 608 certification (Universal preferred)
• Valid Ohio driver's license and clean driving record
• Comfortable diagnosing electrical, refrigerant, and airflow faults
• Professional, customer-facing communication

Nice to have

• NATE certification
• Commercial refrigeration or rooftop unit experience
• Familiarity with Housecall Pro
