Job summary

Kelso Building Services is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. Responsibilities include servicing rooftop units, boilers, chillers, and heat pumps, reading schematics, and documenting work.

The ideal candidate has a 3+ year background, EPA 608 certification, and the ability to travel to job sites. VRF experience and strong customer service skills are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC certification preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as an HVAC Service Technician or in a similar role.
• EPA 608 certification (required).
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Experience servicing and/or installing VRF systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, and heat pumps.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal system performance and longevity.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in HVAC equipment.
• Replace or repair defective components such as motors, compressors, fans, and thermostats.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and team members.
• Maintain accurate service records of work performed, parts used, and system conditions.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, codes, and company policies.

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring

Preferred Qualifications

• NATE certification or equivalent.
• Experience with commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
• Familiarity with digital service tools and mobile work order platforms.
