HVAC Technician

Job Location: Macon, GA

Pay: $23 - $30 and up! (PLUS COMMISSION + BONUSES)

Overview:

As an HVAC Technician, or Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, cooling, and ventilation systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You'll ensure that these systems operate efficiently and provide comfortable indoor environments for occupants.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC vocational or technical training program is preferred.
• Relevant HVAC certifications (e.g., EPA 608 certification for handling refrigerants).
• Strong mechanical and technical skills.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow complex instructions.
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license (for field service positions).
• Compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation: Install heating, cooling, and ventilation systems according to manufacturer specifications, building codes, and design plans. This includes placing and connecting components such as furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, thermostats, etc.

2. Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and component replacement to prevent breakdowns and maintain optimal efficiency.

3. Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in HVAC systems by troubleshooting issues, identifying faulty components, and replacing or repairing them as necessary.

4. Testing and Calibration: Test systems to ensure proper functionality, calibrate thermostats, sensors, and controls.

5. Refrigerant Handling: Handle refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols.

6. Customer Interaction: Explain issues, provide solutions, and offer recommendations for maintenance or upgrades.

7. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and installations.

8. Safety and Regulations: Follow safety protocols and industry regulations.

9. Upkeep of Tools and Equipment: Keep tools and equipment in good condition and stock service vehicles appropriately.

10. Professional Development: Stay updated with advancements in HVAC technology and regulations.
