Job summary

Richard's Heating and Air Repair, Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC systems in the Tri-Valley area.

This in-person role offers competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits, including 401(k) with company match and full employee medical coverage. You will read schematics, work with refrigerants, and ensure safety and quality workmanship while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an HVAC Service Technician or Installer.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, and mechanical repair.
• Experience reading schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• EPA Certification (Type II or Universal) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair a variety of HVAC systems including air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on existing HVAC and mechanical systems
• Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans
• Conduct plumbing connections and proper refrigerant handling
• Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other testing equipment to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
• Weld and fabricate components as needed for repairs
• Perform field service tasks and ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes
• Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and parts used in ServiceTitan
• Assist with system start-up, testing, and commissioning as required

Pay - $35 - $40 per hour

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive hourly pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
• 401(k) with company match up to 4%

• Sick Leave earned at 1 hour per 30 hours worked (per California requirements)

Position Overview
