Job summary

TurnPoint Services' Dauenhauer PHA team in Lexington, KY seeks an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial systems.

Three+ years of field experience, Kentucky Journeyman’s License, and EPA Universal Certification are required; strong customer service and teamwork are essential. You’ll lift up to 100 lbs, hold a valid driver’s license, and work a weekday schedule with on-call rotations.

• Active Kentucky HVAC Journeyman’s License.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Proficient at diagnosing equipment and reading wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems.
• Perform routine maintenance, safety inspections, and system tune-ups.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues quickly and accurately.
• Recommend repairs or replacements and explain options to customers clearly.
• Maintain service records, parts usage logs, and documentation.
• Collaborate with dispatch and other technicians; participate in on-call rotation.

Pay: Up to $35 hourly + commissions

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Sat-Sun Rotations

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dependable HVAC Service Technician to join our team.

This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with excellent customer service and takes pride in doing the job right the first time.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems.
• Perform routine maintenance, safety inspections, and system tune-ups.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues efficiently and accurately.
• Recommend repairs, upgrades, or system replacements as needed and explain options to customers clearly.
• Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications, building codes, and company standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and parts usage logs.
• Collaborate with dispatch, supervisors, and other technicians to ensure timely and professional service. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service.
• Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle and professional appearance.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of experience in residential or light commercial HVAC service (required).
• Active Kentucky HVAC Journeyman’s License
• EPA Universal Certification (required)
• Proficient in diagnosing HVAC equipment and reading wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong time management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor environments.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
