Job summary

Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking skilled HVAC technicians to support our growing North America business. You will work on air cooled and water cooled chillers, boilers, AHUs, and large rooftops, performing startup, commissioning and aftermarket service.

You will join a safety‑focused team, with factory certification through our STA program, and travel up to 20% to support branch customers. Union benefits and training opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be UA member or willing to join.
• Experience with startup, commissioning and aftermarket services.
• Practical experience with air/wh air- or water-cooled chillers and AHUs.
• Ability to lead large complex repairs or retrofits.
• Repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and chillers.
• Maintain ammonia/hydrocarbon safety training certification.
• Extensive HVAC systems experience (chilled water loops, pumping, etc.).
• Mechanical shaft alignment with dial indicators or lasers.
• Able to troubleshoot with vibration equipment.
• Proficient with large tonnage chillers and VSDs.
• Experience with OEM chiller panels/controllers.
• Able to troubleshoot Allen Bradley control systems.
• Travel 10-20% for field work.
• Provide quotes and participate in Service Plus Rewards.

Responsibilities

• Support the fast-growing HVAC business in North America.
• Provide service for air/water-cooled chillers and boilers.
• Assist startup, commissioning and aftermarket service for customers.
• Advise customers to improve facility efficiency and upsell solutions.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
• Travel to support branch customers for startup and commissioning.
• Collaborate with local market mechanics and mentor/train others.
