Job summary

Jobot is seeking an HVAC Service / Start-Up Technician to support start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, warranty, and ongoing service on large-scale commercial projects. This role requires strong experience with VRF/VRV/DX systems and refrigerant diagnostics, and involves travel across the Southeast from Charlotte, NC area.

The position offers on-site work, permanent placement, and opportunities for growth within a nationally expanding contractor.

Qualifications

• 5+ years HVAC service/start-up experience
• Strong VRF/VRV/DX systems experience
• Solid refrigeration troubleshooting knowledge
• Experience on large-scale multifamily/commercial projects
• EPA Universal Certification; manufacturer trainings a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC equipment start-up and commissioning
• Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Perform service and warranty work on installed equipment
• Work with VRF, VRV, and DX systems
• Diagnose refrigerant, controls, and equipment performance issues
• Verify systems installed and operating per manufacturer specs
• Coordinate with field supervision, project teams, manufacturers, and other trades
• Document start-up, testing, service, and commissioning activities
• Maintain company-provided service equipment and vehicle
• Travel regionally to support active projects in the Southeast

Join a nationally recognized mechanical contractor that is continuing to expand throughout the Mid/Atlantic/Southeast. Due to significant growth and a strong pipeline of large-scale projects, they are looking to add an experienced HVAC Service / Start-Up Technician to their team.

This is not a traditional residential HVAC service role. We are looking for someone with strong technical experience in HVAC start-up, commissioning, service, warranty, refrigeration, and troubleshooting on large-scale commercial or multifamily projects.

Job Details

As an HVAC Service / Start-Up Technician, you will support the start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, warranty, and ongoing service of HVAC systems on large-scale construction projects.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of HVAC service, start-up, warranty, and/or commissioning experience
• Strong experience with VRF, VRV, and DX systems
• Solid understanding of refrigeration systems and troubleshooting
• Experience working on large-scale multifamily, high-rise, and/or commercial projects
• EPA Universal Certification
• Manufacturer training or certifications from Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, or similar manufacturers are a plus
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the region
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
• Stable employment history preferred
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and growth-oriented
