JCAC Heating & Cooling in Pelham, AL is seeking an entry-level HVAC Service Apprentice to learn under experienced technicians and grow into a Senior Service Technician. You will receive hands-on training and mentoring while contributing to daily service tasks.

You will assist in installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, participate in safety training, and benefit from regular raises based on performance and skill development.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Hands-on technical experience valued but not required.
• Willingness to learn and develop HVAC skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems under supervision.
• Perform routine service tasks, clean filters, replace parts, and check performance.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and escalate complex problems to senior technicians.
• Maintain organized work area and ensure tools are in good working order.
• Follow safety protocols and communicate progress to clients.

Position Overview

The HVAC Service Apprentice will work closely with our experienced service technicians, assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. This is an entry‑level position designed for individuals who are eager to learn and develop their skills in the HVAC field. As you gain hands‑on experience and complete the required training, you will have the opportunity to earn raises every six months, with the potential to transition to a Senior Service Technician role.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems under the guidance of a senior technician.
• Perform routine service and maintenance tasks, including cleaning filters, replacing parts, and checking system performance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose minor HVAC issues, escalating more complex problems to senior technicians.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and ensure all tools and equipment are in proper working condition.
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies while on job sites.
• Communicate with clients to explain services, schedule appointments, and provide updates on the progress of work.
• Complete required training courses, certifications, and skills development to ensure continual professional growth.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, additional technical education or HVAC coursework a plus.
• Previous experience in a hands‑on technical role (e.g., construction, mechanical work) is beneficial, but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-service-oriented attitude.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Must be able to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
