HVAC Senior Service Technician

Smart, Caring, and Responsible Senior Service Technician wanted full time.

KEIL Heating and Air Conditioning is seeking an experienced residential Senior Service Technician for a full-time position. KEIL has been providing comfort to homeowners in Northern New Jersey for over a century, and we have a growth opening. This is a great opportunity to be part of a wonderful staff that takes care of our established customer base, some of whom have been with us for three generations. We are committed to quality service by empowering reliable & self-motivated individuals. Goal-oriented candidates will provide planned maintenance and service to our homeowner customers. Our services include ductless, central, and high-velocity air conditioning systems, as well as gas and LP-fired furnaces, water, and steam boilers. Knowledge of using an iPad is a plus, as we dispatch, provide Flat Rate Pricing, and invoice using our proprietary software on iPads in the field and in the office.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Perform maintenance on gas furnaces, water and steam boilers, central air conditioning systems, water heaters, etc., as set forth by KEIL.
  2. Perform service on gas furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, water heaters, etc., as set forth by KEIL.
  3. Maintain a customer-focused approach, dealing directly with homeowners professionally and positively.
  4. Provide your own hand tools (a complete list is provided by KEIL). KEIL provides all major tools.
  5. Be able to climb ladders both inside and outside of homes without fear of heights.
  6. Lift and move 75 pounds or more with frequency.
  7. Clearly and concisely explain replacement systems, accessories, and maintenance agreements to customers.
  8. Participate in our emergency night service rotation.
  9. Maintain a clean driving record and hold a current New Jersey driver’s license.
  10. Have your own transportation to and from our office.
  11. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education and Experience:
  • HVAC technical school graduate (Top 10% only).
  • 3-5 years of experience in residential installation, maintenance, and service.
  • Proof of continuing education.
  • Universal Refrigeration Certification.
  • Gastite certification.
  • Manufacturers training certifications.
  • Customer sales skills.
  • NATE Certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based computer systems.
Benefits:

  • Starting hourly pay $28.00 - $35.00, based on experience, ability, and attitude.
  • Work hours: 7:00 - 3:30, Monday - Friday, alternate Saturdays, with additional overtime as required.
