Job summary

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry seeks a detailed-oriented HVAC Mechanic (Refrigeration) to perform maintenance, repair and installation on cooling and refrigeration systems at ASPC-Perryville, Goodyear, AZ. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnostics, scheduling projects, inspections, and record-keeping.

Applicants must have HVAC certification, be able to pass background checks, TB testing, and drug screening; drive state vehicles if required

Qualifications

• HVAC certification required at time of appointment.
• Background check, drug test and medical/physical examination required.
• TB test during orientation and annually thereafter.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to drive State vehicles.
• Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification (E-Verify) required.
• Four years of journey-level experience inspecting, servicing, repairing, and installing cooling/refrigeration equipment/systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration and related systems.
• Diagnose problems or malfunctions and implement solutions.
• Plan and schedule maintenance projects with material lists and timeframes.
• Conduct inspections and evaluate inmate worker performance.
• Maintain tools and equipment, and document activities as required by policy.
• Operate state vehicles for maintenance work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
