Job summary

Fred Meyer is seeking a part-time HVAC/Refrigeration technician based in Portland and surrounding areas. The role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on store refrigeration and HVAC systems, with emphasis on safe operation and accurate documentation.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of refrigeration/HVAC experience, EPA Type 2 certification, and a high school diploma, plus a valid driver's license. Flexibility for evenings/nights and overtime is required.

Qualifications

• Experience reading engineering drawings, manuals and schematics.
• EPA Type 2 Certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Drive independently to stores daily as assigned.
• Perform preventive maintenance on buildings and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment as directed.
• Assist in compressor, large motor and component replacement.
• Maintain inventory of parts.
• Operate equipment and lifts safely.
• Complete repair, labor, and parts documentation promptly.
• Work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and overtime when necessary.
