Job summary

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic – Mechanical Services to support HVAC and refrigeration systems throughout facilities. The role requires hands-on mechanical repair, electrical troubleshooting, and adherence to safety standards in a state-supported environment.

Responsibilities include installing and repairing pumps, air handlers, boilers and chillers, with training provided.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Type I and II or Universal certification is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of HVAC/refrigeration systems and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Read schematics and wiring diagrams to trace electrical circuits and troubleshoot faults.
• Test relays, capacitors, and motors; replace worn components and belts.
• Maintain boiler water chemistry and operate boilers safely per regulations.
• Assist with relocation of residents’ belongings and move equipment as needed.
