Job summary

MSD in Durham, NC is seeking an HVAC&R Technician responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment to support vaccine process operations and manufacturing stability. The role emphasizes SOP adherence, PM execution, and precise documentation.

You will work with Operations, Quality, Automation, and Technology to maintain high quality, cost-efficient, and on-schedule production. The position includes night shifts, on-call duties, and a strong emphasis on cGMP and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of plant maintenance experience with HVAC, instrumentation, electrical, or refrigeration knowledge.
• Ability to read electrical prints and P&IDs; understand control loops.
• Willing to support on-call and weekend overtime.
• Proficient with MS Office and CMMS databases; strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HVAC/R systems and related equipment, including DX systems and chillers.
• Read and interpret P&IDs and electrical drawings; troubleshoot complex systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and calibrations; document activities.
• Coordinate with contractors; manage spare parts and procurement in MRO system.
