Job summary

G.E. Mechanical is seeking an experienced HVAC/R technician to perform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial systems in New Jersey.

You will service restaurants, stores, cold storage facilities, and distribution centers, coordinating with customers and teams to ensure uptime. Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED and 3+ years of HVAC/R service experience; EPA certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Commercial/industrial customers include restaurants, convenience stores, cold storage, distribution and supermarkets.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems including split systems, chillers, packaged units, boilers and controls.
• Operate tablet-based service ticket software for HVAC/R work.
• Perform preventative maintenance for contract customers.
• Work overtime and participate in on-call rotation.

Our customers include a wide variety of building owners, contractors, industrial production facilities, commercial enterprises, municipal and government entities, and property managers. In addition to our Emergency Services, we also provide Design and Build Services, Construction Management, and Preventative/Reactive/Predictive Maintenance Programs.

Responsibilities

• Installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance services for commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems
• Commercial/industrial customers include restaurant equipment, convenience stores, cold storage facilities, distribution companies, and super market refrigeration
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC systems to including split systems, chillers, packaged units, oil- and gas-fired boilers and control systems
• Ability to work with tablet-based service ticket software system for all HVAC/R work performed
• Perform HVAC/R preventative maintenance service for contract customers
• Ability to work overtime as needed and be part of a scheduled HVAC/R on-call rotation

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• 3+ years of HVAC/R Service

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial refrigeration experience
• Commercial and residential air conditioning and gas/oil heat service experience
• Commercial and/or residential HVAC replacement experience
• Understanding of control systems and wiring
• EPA certification
• Professional, ethical, and a team player willing to grow with the company
