Job summary

Yellowstone Local is seeking a seasoned commercial refrigeration technician to join Climate Care's field team in New Jersey. You will diagnose, service, repair, and install commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment.

We offer full-time work with on-call rotation, overtime, and benefits (medical, PTO, retirement, company vehicle, cell phone, fuel card). EPA Type I–III certification is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of commercial refrigeration service experience preferred.
• Strong experience troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, and replacing commercial refrigeration systems.
• Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems such as rooftop units and split systems is preferred.
• Experience working on walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, reach-in refrigeration equipment, and ice machines.
• Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and mechanical components.
• EPA Type I, II, and III Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, service, repair, and replacement of commercial refrigeration equipment in New Jersey and surrounding areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, reach-in coolers/freezers, and ice machines.
• Complete commercial refrigeration installations and equipment replacements.
• Service commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units, split systems, ductless systems, VAV/VRV systems as needed.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective repair solutions.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings with customers and management.
• Deliver professional customer service while representing Climate Care in the field.
• Follow safety standards, refrigeration regulations, and industry best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency service needs.

Your New Role

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, service, repair, and replacement of commercial refrigeration equipment in Oak Ridge, New Jersey, and throughout Northern and Central New Jersey

• Troubleshoot and repair walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, reach-in coolers, reach-in freezers, and ice machines

• Complete commercial refrigeration installations and equipment replacements

• Service commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units, split systems, heat systems, ductless systems, VAV systems, and VRV systems as needed

• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective repair solutions

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and recommend corrective actions

• Maintain accurate service records and clearly communicate findings with customers and management

• Deliver professional customer service while representing Climate Care in the field

• Follow all safety standards, refrigeration regulations, and industry best practices

• Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to emergency service needs when scheduled

• 6+ years of commercial refrigeration service experience preferred

• Vocational training preferred

• Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and professionalism through previous work experience
