Job summary

MSS A Crete United Company is seeking an experienced HVAC/R technician to join our team and cover the Montgomery, AL area and surrounding counties. This role offers an opportunity to work with a strong customer base and advance your technical skills.

Essential duties include system inspections, fault diagnosis, component installation, and routine maintenance, with emphasis on safety and accuracy. High school diploma or GED plus equivalent experience required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience.
• EPA certification required.
• Ability to read electronic schematics and blueprints.
• High School diploma or GED with equivalent work experience.
• Skilled in diagnosing and repairing complex HVAC components.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs to pump seals, bearing, etc.
• Inspect and test systems for compliance and to locate malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot HVAC and boiler systems and determine customer concerns.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Document faults, time and materials on work orders.
• Adjust system controls per manufacturer recommendations.
• Perform maintenance procedures like cleaning, lubrication, or filter changes.
• Install ducts, valves, piping, or related components per blueprints.

Job description

Mechanical Systems & Service MSS Located in West Monroe, LA is expanding our operations, and we are looking for an experienced HVAC / R technician to join our team! This position will cover the Montgomery, AL area and surrounding counties!

What You'll Do:

• Perform routine repairs to pump seals, bearing, etc.
• Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
• Determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems.
• Follow standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
• Record and report faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
• Adjust system controls to setting recommended by manufacturer to balance system.
• Recommend, develop, or perform maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, lubricate parts, or changing filters.
• Install auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, and stokers, following blueprints
• Study blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper installation of components
• Fabricate, assemble, or install duct work or chassis parts, using portable metal-working tools or welding equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience
• Universally EPA Certified
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC components with built up systems and package units, which may include chiller air handler pump towers, cooling towers, control systems, boilers and air handling systems
• Ability to learn commercial expertise in boilers, chillers, pneumatic controls, digital controls and packaged HVAC equipment
• Ability to read electronic schematics
• High School diploma/GED required + equivalent work experience
