Job summary

Mechanical Systems & Service, located near West Monroe, LA, is expanding and seeks an experienced HVAC/R technician to cover the Montgomery, AL area and surrounding counties. You will perform repairs, test systems, and determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems.

The role requires 5+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance, universal EPA certification, and the ability to read schematics and blueprints.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience.
• EPA Certified (universally).
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC components in complex systems.
• Ability to read electronic schematics and blueprints.
• High School diploma or GED with equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs to pumps, seals, bearings and related components.
• Inspect and test HVAC and boiler systems for compliance and fault detection.
• Identify customer concerns and propose maintenance or repair plans.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Record faults, time and materials on work orders.
• Adjust system controls per manufacturer specifications.
• Install auxiliary components such as valves, ducts, and dampers per blueprints.
• Study design specs to ensure proper installation of equipment.
• Fabricate or install ductwork and chassis parts as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Mechanical Systems & ServiceMSS Located in West Monroe, LA is expanding our operations, and we are looking for an experienced HVAC / R technician to join our team! This position will cover the Montgomery, AL area and surrounding counties!

What You'll Do:

• Perform routine repairs to pump seals, bearing, etc.
• Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
• Determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems.
• Follow standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
• Record and report faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
• Adjust system controls to setting recommended by manufacturer to balance system.
• Recommend, develop, or perform maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, lubricate parts, or changing filters.
• Install auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, and stokers, following blueprints
• Study blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper installation of components
• Fabricate, assemble, or install duct work or chassis parts, using portable metal-working tools or welding equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience
• Universally EPA Certified
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC components with built up systems and package units, which may include chiller air handler pump towers, cooling towers, control systems, boilers and air handling systems
• Ability to learn commercial expertise in boilers, chillers, pneumatic controls, digital controls and packaged HVAC equipment
• Ability to read electronic schematics
• High School diploma/GED required + equivalent work experience
