Job summary

Abbott Park, IL-based HVAC/R Mechanic II role in the GES Global Engineering Services division. Responsible for maintenance and repair of ice machines, refrigerators, freezers, and environmental systems across manufacturing labs, warehouses, and offices.

Position follows a rotating 12-hour day shift (6:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m.), 4 days on, 4 days off, with a focus on safety, reliability, and timely restoration of equipment to operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in HVAC/R maintenance in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R equipment to restore operation.
• Familiarity with GMP/safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on HVAC/R equipment including production, lab, and facility systems.
• Lead or collaborate within a small crew on larger projects as needed.
• Ensure safety and quality standards are followed and strive to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Troubleshoot, order parts, and install components for HVAC/R units.
• Operate within Abbott Engineering Standards for refrigeration equipment.
