Job summary

College of Lake County seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) theory and hands-on lab work. The role requires delivering course content, developing syllabi, and evaluating student progress in alignment with department outcomes.

The candidate should have an Associate’s degree or higher in HVAC/R Technology (or equivalent) with 2+ years of industry experience, plus EPA 608 certification or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in HVAC/R Technology and min 2 years recent industry work experience.
• Certificate in HVAC/R and min 5 years recent industry work experience.
• EPA 608 industry certification and min 10 years recent work experience with a demonstrated track record in HVAC/R.

Responsibilities

• Teach HVAC/R courses, develop syllabus and course materials.
• Instruct and evaluate students, attend adjunct meetings, and participate in college governance.
• Maintain curriculum and stay current with industry practices.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Deliver course content using varied teaching styles and meet all class sessions.
