Job summary

Protouch Staffing is seeking a Lead HVAC Project Manager in Minnesota to lead HVAC projects from proposal to completion, drive business development with commercial and industrial clients, and develop estimates, proposals and system recommendations.

You will support HVAC design, coordinate engineers and installers, manage budgets and schedules, ensure regulatory compliance, mentor junior staff, and stay current with HVAC trends.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in HVAC sales, project management, or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, HVAC Design, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience managing HVAC projects from start to finish.
  • Knowledge of HVAC design, installation, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with contracts, pricing, change orders, budgets, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and CRM platforms.
  • Strong organization, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HVAC projects from initial proposal and sale through project completion.
  • Drive business development through outreach, networking, and client relationships.
  • Develop project estimates, proposals, presentations, and system recommendations.
  • Support HVAC system design and equipment selection.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend HVAC solutions aligned with budgets and timelines.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and budgets.
  • Monitor progress and ensure scope, schedule, and budget alignment.
  • Coordinate engineers, installers, subcontractors, technicians, and staff.
  • Manage project documentation including contracts, change orders, budgets, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
  • Maintain long-term client relationships and support repeat business.
  • Provide post-installation support and address project-related concerns.
  • Identify opportunities for value-added services and system upgrades.
  • Mentor junior staff and share project management and sales best practices.
  • Stay current with HVAC technologies, systems, and industry trends.
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers and internal teams.
  • Make timely project decisions and resolve issues affecting execution.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, HVAC Design, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience managing HVAC projects from start to finish.
  • Knowledge of HVAC design, installation, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with airside HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of chilled water systems.
  • Knowledge of steam systems.
  • Knowledge of heating systems.
  • Experience with HVAC project estimating and proposals.
  • Experience with contracts, pricing, change orders, budgets, and project documentation.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and CRM platforms.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Professional and respectful customer-facing presence.
  • P.E., E.I.T., or HVAC-related certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to pass a criminal history background check.
