Trane Technologies in La Crosse, Wisconsin invites you to join our Engineering Test Laboratory as an HVAC Product Development Technician Intern. This onsite, temporary role focuses on testing New Product Development, sustainability, and quality improvement projects, supporting qualification of Trane commercial HVAC products.

The position is hourly at $22, with flexible hours to fit school schedules; 15–20 hours weekly in the school year and full-time in summer.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an Associate Degree program in HVAC or a 2-year HVAC program at an accredited school.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook); basic Visual Basic programming is a plus.
• EPA Type Universal Certification or willingness to become certified.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Support product development activities by operating Commercial HVAC equipment, controlling test facilities, and collecting experimental test data with guidance from senior staff.
• Assist with installation, modification, and build of developmental Commercial HVAC equipment and components, following engineering, agency, and test requirements.
• Assist Test Engineering and other Technicians to install and utilize lab test equipment including data acquisition systems, power analyzers, flow equipment, pressure, and temperature measurement devices.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repair of Trane Commercial HVAC technologies and equipment.
