Job summary

Shelby County Schools in Memphis, TN is seeking an HVAC Preventive Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance on commercial HVAC systems, including air handlers, RTUs, boilers, and chillers, ensuring efficiency and safety. You will inspect, clean, and replace filters and coils, document service records, and work with a team to troubleshoot basic issues.

A high school diploma or GED and EPA 608 certification are required, with at least two years of relevant experience preferred; valid

Requires High School diploma or GED and HVAC certification (EPA 608 universal).
Two years of HVAC maintenance experience preferred.
Knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, tools, and safety protocols.
Must possess a valid driver?s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment including air handlers, RTU?s, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, and split systems.
Inspect and replace filters, belts, and other consumables as required.
Clean cooling towers and coils; drain lines and pans.
Lubricate motors and bearings; monitor system performance.
Maintain accurate records of services performed and materials used.
Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members.
Assist with basic troubleshooting; escalate complex issues as needed.
Adhere to safety policies and standards.
