Job summary

Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, MD is seeking a Part-Time Faculty member to teach HVAC and Plumbing, in the Clauson Center for Innovation and Skilled Trades. The instructor will follow the curriculum, deliver lab-based and theoretical content, and use online platforms for materials.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, maintaining labs, ensuring safety, and communicating with students and staff. Prior teaching is preferred, visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Journeyman/Master license or Journeyman level in HVAC and Plumbing
• Safety awareness and NEC Code knowledge
• Thorough knowledge of principles, terminology, tools and equipment used in the trade
• High School degree or equivalent
• 5 years of related experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials needed for course instruction, labs, testing, supplies
• Provide basic lab maintenance and track inventory of equipment and tools utilized
• Relate instruction and material to course objectives
• Familiar with NEC code book as appropriate
• Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal safety and power/hand tool safety
• Communicate effectively with students, other faculty and staff
• Submit grades, attendance, reports and records in a timely manner
