Job summary

Anne Arundel Community College is seeking a part-time Apprenticeship Instructor for the Arnold/Main Campus to teach in Electrical, HVAC, Low Voltage or Plumbing trades. The instructor will follow curriculum outlines and use Canvas for online content, with in-person labs and instructions as required.

Experience in teaching is not required; a passion to share industry knowledge and strong classroom management skills are essential. Compliance with adjunct instructional policies will apply.

Qualifications

• Journeyman/Master license or Journeyman level knowledge in electrical, HVAC, Low Voltage or Plumbing trade.
• Safety awareness and knowledge of NEC Code book as appropriate.
• Thorough knowledge of the principles, terminology, tools and equipment used in the trade.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials needed for course instruction, labs, testing, supplies.
• Provide basic lab maintenance and track inventory of equipment and tools utilized.
• Familiar with NEC code book.
• Relate instruction and material to course objectives.
• Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal safety and power/hand tool safety.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with students, other faculty and staff.
• Submit grades, attendance, reports and records in a timely manner.

Education

Journeyman/Master license or Journeyman level knowledge in electrical, HVAC, Low Voltage or Plumbing

Safety awareness & NEC Code knowledge

Thorough knowledge of trade principles, terminology, tools & equipment
