Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Test Engineer in Frederick, MD for a permanent, onsite role supporting an HVAC performance test laboratory. You will plan, coordinate, and execute certification and performance tests, design test apparatus, and ensure compliance with applicable standards.

You will prepare clear test documentation, collaborate with internal and external teams, and contribute to product validation, continuous improvement, and high-quality engineering outcomes in a growing manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 25 years of experience in engineering or technical role.
• Experience with HVAC testing or HVAC service and familiarity with HVAC equipment.
• Ability to read/write English and create clear test documentation and reports.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and schedule performance testing activities in the ETL satellite lab.
• Review testing specs and scripts with Sales and Applications teams and provide input.
• Create detailed test planning docs, drawings or sketches, instrument selections, and material lists.
• Identify root causes during testing and propose solutions to meet requirements.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, ASHRAE, AHRI standards and company safety policies.
