Job summary

Intertek in Cortland, New York is hiring an Engineer – HVAC Performance to join our Electrical team. The role focuses on electrical testing, evaluating products to applicable standards, writing reports, and communicating with clients. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site and off-site evaluation of products to determine compliance with applicable standards.
• Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT.
• Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
• Validate the project scope and sample applicability.
• Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing.
• Set up and operate EUT; perform and document repairs as needed.
• Perform testing of products in accordance with standards including rating, leakage current, dielectric, temperature, pressure, etc.
• Prepare and submit final reports using established report shells.
• Communicate project status and test results to clients, sales personnel, and management.
