Job summary

Halifax Health is seeking a skilled HVAC/Mechanical Technician to install, maintain, and monitor mechanical systems across our healthcare facilities. You will coordinate with facilities and engineering teams, perform preventive maintenance, and support for air handlers, boilers, and related equipment in care settings.

The role requires hands-on knowledge of HVAC components, safety practices, and strong documentation through CMMS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus trade school, apprenticeship training, or equivalent mechanical/HVAC experience.
• EPA Section 608 Type I certification or obtain within introductory period.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Ability to operate CMMS and document PMs, rounds, and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC systems and components.
• Coordinates with facilities and engineering teams.
• Tests systems and documents performance and efficiency.
• Monitors service vendors and ensures quality of work.
• Maintains CMMS records and asset data for new/existing equipment.
• Assists with repairs and minor capital projects.
