LAS VEGAS CONVENTION AND VISITORS AUTHORITY is seeking a Skilled Trades Assistant to learn and perform maintenance and repairs across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in LVCC facilities. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate from a certificate-producing accredited technical program or a minimum of one year of recent documented commercial experience.
• Ability to take direction and work under close direct supervision; wear PPE; read blueprints and schematics; operate ariel lifts up to 60 feet; work in a diverse team; be self-driven and responsible.
• Must have or obtain OSHA 10 certification within 90 days of employment.
• Journeyman certifications/licenses (NEC, EPA Refrigerant, Backflow Prevention Tester, etc.) within 36 months from entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with journey-level assignments to learn HVAC and other trades.
• Assist in installation, maintenance, and repairs of boilers, chillers, pumps, generators, motors, electrical, kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
• Obtain and organize tools, equipment, and materials for the assigned tradesperson.
• Learn troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of LVCC systems equipment.
• Read blueprints and schematics to diagnose repairs.
• Complete work orders and clean areas after job completion.
• Assist skilled tradespersons in maintaining logs and records.
