Job summary

The City of North Las Vegas is seeking a Facilities Technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, boilers, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, with additional building trades work including electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting. The role may involve supervising a crew and will require a strong foundation in facility maintenance.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, five+ years of related experience, or an apprenticeship/building trades certificate.

Qualifications

Apprenticeship or building trades certificate preferred.
Five or more years of progressively responsible facility maintenance experience in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
Eight years experience may substitute for education/experience requirements.

Responsibilities

Support Public Works by installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, boilers, air-conditioning, and refrigeration equipment and systems.
Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks as part of building maintenance duties.
Work with hand tools and power tools; operate within skilled trades at journey level.
Supervise subordinate crew members as needed.
