Job summary

Johnson Controls in Ellendale, ND is seeking a skilled HVAC systems serviceman with residential, light commercial and/or heavy commercial experience to join our team and work with the most advanced equipment available.

The role requires at least five years of field experience, EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification, OSHA 30-hour certification (post-hire), and strong troubleshooting and communication skills; we provide STA certification and career advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
• Ability to commit to a 30-Hour OSHA Certification which is to be done after hours and weekends is required upon hire

• Computer savvy with good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
• Assist journeymen with centrifugal, steam turbines, and ammonia systems.
• Work within the STA certification program to support certification milestones.
• Collaborate with field teams to meet service deadlines and safety standards.

Work Location:

This role is based in Ellendale, ND. While the official Johnson Controls office is located in Fargo, ND, day-to-day work will primarily take place in Ellendale. We are also open to candidates residing in nearby areas such as Jamestown, Edgeley, Oakes or Aberdeen.

Journeyman must be skilled craftsmen in their trade, and we prefer a minimum of five (5) years actual, practical working experience in the HVAC plumbing, pipefitting and/or mechanical equipment service industry. You may be required to pass a satisfactory examination as to your special skill.

May be required to satisfactorily pass an examination to identify special skills. Scope of work shall be limited to commercial HVACR service. Servicemen may partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and absorption machines, open-drive screw chillers and ammonia systems.

What we look for

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
• Ability to commit to a 30-Hour OSHA Certification which is to be done after hours and weekends is required upon hire
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
• Computer savvy with good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred

• Refrigeration Certification preferred

Pay Range: $42.83 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
