Job summary

Jobot in the Chicago Northwest Suburbs is seeking a Project Manager to lead HVAC/mechanical construction projects, including chillers, boilers, and piping. You will coordinate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction, with strong leadership, communication, and BIM proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing mechanical or HVAC construction projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems including thermal storage, cogeneration, and variable air volume systems.
• Proficiency in project management software and BIM tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
• Coordinate with design teams and field staff to ensure alignment with project goals and technical specifications.
• Oversee scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and subcontractor management.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and quality expectations.
• Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Implement design-build and design-assist delivery methods to optimize cost and schedule performance.
• Support innovation through the use of BIM.
