Job summary

Georgia State University in Atlanta seeks a Mechanical Equipment Inspector to maintain, inspect, and repair HVAC and related equipment, supporting the Building Maintenance Zone 01 team on the Atlanta Campus.

The ideal candidate will operate chillers, pumps, boilers and related systems, perform vibration analysis and preventive maintenance planning, coordinate contractors, and prepare inspection reports. Some electrical, plumbing and door/window work may be required.

Qualifications

• HVAC experience required or equivalent
• EPA Technician CFC/HCFC and HFC Universal certification or must be certified within six months of employment
• Strong problem-solving and safety awareness are essential

Responsibilities

• Maintains, inspects, and repairs HVAC and related equipment daily.
• Operates chillers, split systems, pumps, boilers, heaters, and related equipment.
• Performs vibration analysis, nondestructive testing, lubrication, and maintenance testing.
• Assists in planning and scheduling preventative maintenance.
• Coordinates work of contractors and vendors for equipment maintenance.
• Prepares inspection reports on mechanical and building equipment.
• Performs minor electrical wiring, plumbing, doors/windows maintenance, and general upkeep.
