Job summary

The Building People, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the 81st U.S. Army Reserve Directorate of Public Works in Columbia, South Carolina.

This role provides engineering, planning, maintenance and construction support for Army Reserve facilities and infrastructure programs contributing to mission readiness. Key duties include field data collection, technical drafting, HVAC and mechanical systems support, repair planning, and coordination with stakeholders to meet UFC and Army

Qualifications

• Professional engineering registrations preferred but not required.
• HVAC or mechanical licenses preferred but not required.
• Experience with mechanical construction, HVAC operations, facilities management or military construction programs encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support for Army Reserve real property projects across planning, design, maintenance and execution phases.
• Conduct field data collection, technical drafting, HVAC and mechanical systems support, and prepare related documentation.
• Coordinate with government personnel and project stakeholders to ensure compliance with UFC and Army standards.
• Prepare scopes of work, PWS and IGE for repair projects and utilize AutoCAD drawings for repair planning.
• Support approximately six mechanical engineering projects annually and upload records to CMMS platforms.
• Perform travel for site assessments as required by Government COR.
