Our client is seeking an AutoCAD Drafter to join their team in a full-time, permanent role in the New York area. The position requires preparing HVAC ductwork and mechanical piping shop drawings and coordinating with multiple trades to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical training in drafting, mechanical design, engineering technology, or related field preferred.
• Experience preparing HVAC ductwork and/or mechanical piping shop drawings preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, or similar mechanical detailing software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate shop drawings for commercial and industrial HVAC ductwork and/or mechanical piping systems.
• Develop layout, fabrication, spool, and installation drawings from contract documents and field conditions.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection trades.
• Identify and resolve drawing conflicts and constructability issues.
• Incorporate field measurements, RFIs, and project revisions into drawing packages.
• Maintain accurate drawing documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, field supervisors, and fabrication teams to support successful project execution.
