Job summary

Trane Technologies’ Designer III role focuses on creating detailed design documentation, 3D models, and production drawings for HVAC components. You will translate engineering requirements into practical, manufacturable solutions and support product development from concept through production release.

The ideal candidate offers strong CAD skills, GD&T knowledge, and a continuous improvement mindset, with collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree with 3–5+ years mechanical design experience (HVAC/industrial equipment preferred).
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as PTC Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, design for manufacturability, and change management.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and engineering documentation for HVAC components and assemblies.
• Translate requirements into manufacturable design solutions.
• Support product development from concept through prototype, testing, validation, and production release.
• Contribute innovative design concepts to improve efficiency, reliability, serviceability, and value.
• Apply mechanical design knowledge to deliver quality designs and maintain documentation.
• Lead smaller project tasks and resolve design issues.
