Job summary

Air Systems Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to perform a wide range of HVAC activities for commercial and industrial customers. This on-site role requires living within commuting distance to Tacoma, WA, or relocating prior to hire.

Salary range is $125,000 to $145,000 per year, with benefits typical for the industry. The candidate should have a BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) and at least three years of HVAC experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Three years HVAC or construction experience.
• Plumbing design experience preferred but not required.
• MS Office, CAD and Revit are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales and Project Managers to provide design solutions.
• Analyze customer specifications and requirements to determine mechanical designs.
• Assist with budgets, pre-contract designs and presentations.
• Design construction details for installation and equipment sizing.
• Produce O&M manuals, commissioning and related project documents.
• Conduct site surveys to ensure accurate designs.
• Ensure code compliance and permit information is provided.
