Job summary

State of North Carolina - Health & Human Services seeks an HVAC Mechanic II at Murdoch Developmental Center in Butner, NC. You will maintain and service all HVAC systems for Murdoch Center and satellite facilities, install new equipment, and perform preventive maintenance.

The role requires 4 years of HVAC experience, EPA Type I-III or Universal certification, and ability to diagnose malfunctions. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm; this position is mandatory and must report during adverse

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and four years of progressive experience in installation, maintenance or repair of HVAC systems.
• EPA certification (Type I, II, III or Universal) as required by 40 CFR 82.
• Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Experience with pneumatic control systems and hydronic air handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service all HVAC systems for Murdoch Center and satellite facilities.
• Install new equipment as required and perform preventive maintenance.
• Assist with maintenance for other State agencies as needed.
• Report for adverse weather events as required by the position.
