Job summary

Towson University is seeking an HVAC Mechanic I to service and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including pumps and heat pumps, with on-call rotation. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance and capable handling of systems up to 250 tons, with a 7:00 am–3:30 pm workday.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED, four years of experience in HVAC, and CFC Certification Types I & II (or Universal). The position offers full TU benefits and growth opportunities on campus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Four years progressively responsible experience in the air conditioning/refrigeration trade.
• CFC Refrigerant Certification Types I & II or Universal.

Responsibilities

• Services, repairs and installs air conditioning equipment of all kinds.
• Diagnoses test repairs and replaces complex internal chiller controls and auxiliary components.
• Troubleshoot and service temperature control devices using related software.
• Balance air and hydronic systems and adjust for optimal operation.
• Maintain burner operation and fuel-air ratios.
• Maintain VFD applications on pumps and fans.
• Service humidification systems and provide training to staff.
