Amentum is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to inspect, repair, and maintain HVAC systems for critical environments in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on direct expansion and chilled water systems, centrifugal chillers, and integration with direct digital control systems.

Responsibilities include diagnosing with test equipment, certifying refrigerant handling, balancing air distribution, and readiness for shift work.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; journeyman per union rules.
• Experience with HVAC direct expansion and chilled water systems.
• Proficiency with test equipment (multimeters, meters, sensors).
• Proficiency in direct digital control systems and programmable controllers.

Responsibilities

• Understand and repair direct expansion and chilled water cooling systems.
• Repair complex centrifugal chillers.
• Use test equipment to diagnose environmental control systems.
• Handle, procure, introduce, and recover refrigerants (CFC/HFC/HCFC) with certification.
• Operate and program computerized handheld service tools for controllers.
• Repair large air handlers and test/ balance distribution systems.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and lift loads over 50 lbs.
• Work shift work, including weekends and overtime when required.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
